The Role

The Senior Account Manager plays a strategic role in generating and growing Saas revenue with assigned companies in industries such as: Oil & Gas, Chemical, (Sustainable) Energy, and Utilities. Will sell the Assai DMS and Viewport solution to large regional accounts.

This position is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction, driving product adoption, and identifying growth opportunities through upselling and cross-selling. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of SaaS-based DMS solutions and can align customer needs with product capabilities to deliver long-term value.

Resonsibilities

  • Own and manage a portfolio of high-value customer accounts, serving as their primary point of contact.

  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ business processes and document management needs.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships to ensure account retention and satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Sales, Product, Support) to deliver seamless onboarding, support, and ongoing engagement.

  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to grow account revenue.

  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and strategic planning sessions with clients.

  • Monitor account health metrics, usage data, and engagement to proactively address risks or issues.

  • Act as a customer advocate internally, ensuring product enhancements align with client needs.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and evolving document management technologies.

Competencies

  • Technical & Industry Knowledge

    • SaaS Expertise - Deep understanding of subscription-based software models, customer lifecycle, and value realization.

    • DMS Proficiency - Familiarity with document workflows, metadata, version control, compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and digital transformation processes.

    • Data Analysis - Ability to interpret account metrics, usage data, and churn indicators to drive informed decisions.

    • CRM Tools - Proficient in Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms for managing pipelines, tracking interactions, and forecasting.

    • Product Knowledge - Deep understanding of your own platform’s technical capabilities and integration options (e.g., APIs, cloud storage).

  • Client Relationship & Communication

    • Strategic Relationship Management - Ability to build executive-level relationships and become a trusted advisor to clients.

    • Negotiation & Upselling - Skilled in identifying growth opportunities and confidently navigating renewal and upsell discussions.

    • Presentation Skills - Ability to lead QBRs, demo new features, and present ROI metrics clearly and persuasively.

    • Conflict Resolution - Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills to resolve client issues with urgency and professionalism.

  • Business Acumen & Strategy

    • Customer Retention Strategy - Deep understanding of renewal cycles, success planning, and reducing churn.

    • Account Planning - Experience developing account plans, revenue forecasts, and client roadmaps.

    • Cross-functional Collaboration - Ability to work across teams (Sales, Product, Support, Marketing) to align efforts and deliver value.

    • Project Management - Skilled in managing timelines, deliverables, and multi-stakeholder

      initiatives.

Additional Information

  • Work location is Houston, TX.

  • You will need to live in and have a work permit for the US. We will not accept applications without this requirement.

  • Full-time employment (40 hours per week);

  • Possibility to work partly from home (40%);

  • Competitive salary, based on qualifications and experience.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

  • (Preferred) A master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus, especially for enterprise/strategic roles

  • 8+ years of experience in account management or client-facing roles, preferably in the SaaS or DMS industry.

  • Additional coursework or certifications in SaaS, Customer Success, or Account Management are advantageous (e.g., HubSpot Academy, Gainsight, or CSPO)

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding customer retention and revenue growth targets.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and communicate DMS product capabilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and data analysis tools.

  • Experience working with enterprise-level clients.

  • Understanding of compliance and security requirements in document management (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
