The Role

The Senior Account Manager plays a crucial role in nurturing and managing relationships with existing accounts, ensuring satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for account growth. This position also includes elements of business development within the Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Energy industries. The role involves collaborating with re-sell/SI partner(s) and the Assai team to ensure seamless service delivery and customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, addressing their needs and aligning them with Assai’s solutions.

  • Identify opportunities to expand product usage or introduce new services within existing accounts.

  • Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with client management to gain insights and foster trust.

  • Manage account-specific projects, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Oversee the preparation of proposals and quotes tailored to client needs.

  • Collaborate with the business development team to identify and pursue upsell or cross-sell opportunities.

  • Occasionally assist in new client acquisition by leveraging existing relationships and market insights.

  • Attend relevant events, conferences, and meetings to represent Assai and strengthen client relationships (approximately 4 trips outside Malaysia annually).

Additional Information

  • Work location is our office in Kuala Lumpur (the Netherlands)

  • You will need to live in and have a work permit for Malaysia. We will not accept applications without this requirement. 

  • Full-time employment (40 hours per week);

  • Possibility to work partly from home (40%);

  • Competitive salary, based on qualifications and experience, Bonus component based on KPI’s.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Experience in account management, preferably in software sales (SAAS) as well as the Oil & Gas/Energy industry.

  • Strong understanding of operational processes such as project management, engineering, and maintenance.

  • Proven ability to build lasting relationships across multiple levels within client organizations.

  • Results-driven and proactive in solving customer issues.

  • Fluent in English; additional regional languages are a plus.

  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

  • Energetic team player with a collaborative spirit and forward-thinking attitude.
